Not since the fall of the Berlin Wall has the world felt such a sense of hope and brotherhood. F.C. K Street (which is considering changing its name to L.V. K Street) achieved its first victory of the season with the help of Crooks Tony Pappas, Mike Huling and Logan Kendall. The olive branch of aid was gladly accepted by the usually stoic and hard nosed F.C. captains Horgan and Lovell; it was later commented that the opportunity to view Kendall’s impressive calves in action was enough to melt their steely pride and graciously accept Crooks assistance.
The gloomy skies of Sunday afternoon seemed to portend disaster. The F.C. spirits were dampened – along with their uniforms and equipment. The metaphorical, if not actual, sun then shone upon F.C. in the form of assistance from former team mates. Help was greatly needed to defeat the mighty orange; whose reputation for dirty tactics and bone-crushing brutality are legendary. This opponent’s ferocity can now be seen in the full body bruise Lovell is sporting after a collision in the goalie box.
The 2-1 victory can be attributed to many fine plays. Keith Chu proved to be F.C’s own Great Wall in the goal, holding the Orange to one measly goal despite many shots on goal. The Huling-Donica-Lovell defensive line sent the opposing teams “strong men” home in tears, crying for their mommies. Huling and Donica, stuck around after the game to graciously sign autographs, kiss babies and romance their many fans. Lovell, in a jealous fit of rage, keyed an unsuspecting fans car. When asked to comment she stated “this league is about heart, its about the love of a game that bridges the gaps between nations…not hooking up with pathetic groupies.” Huling and Donica retorted “jealous bitch.”
The two goals were scored by Pappas and F.C.’s own Glenn Brandys, who proved to be as good at scoring goals as he is at blocking them in the box. Pappas play was an object of contention throughout the game. As the other team came to recognize his skill, they began to openly question the validity of his participation. Such pedantic play has not been seen since the famous Yankees/Royals tar incident of 1983. Pappas could not be reached for comment on the controversy, his agent citied that “his preparation for an upcoming marathon has left him with little time to comment on the supposed controversy of Sunday’s game.” Captain Horgan nearly scored a third goal in the first half, having a perfect shot on goal. Poor weather conditions were blamed on the miss and Ms. Horgan is reportedly seeking metrological consolation for next game.
Surely, last Sunday was an epic day on two fronts: the much anticipated first victory for F.C and the amicable reconciliation between the reds and purples…Mustafa Dimbiloglu excluded, there is still a bounty on his head.

Geeks On FC K Street!
Celebrating our near-tie at Trusty's after the game, it came out that quite a few of FC K Street's players are really slack jawed geeks by day. [I say 'near tie' because their 2 goals, if you look carefully, were the result of nothing more than pure as snow luck. (Never eat yellow snow, btw.) The random confluence of a grass clump, several rocks, and a ball that had bounced off one too many windshields = nothing-but-net-luck. But I digress...]
So, for all the geeks out there, and geek wannabees, behold the WiFi detecting tshirt:
